# Your story settings

Each story has a comprehensive settings page, accessible from the story dashboard via the Settings menu. This page is organized into several tabs that allow you to configure every aspect of your narrative: general information, game options, metadata, and publication.

Take time to configure properly

Your story settings directly influence the reader experience. Take the time to fill in each tab carefully, especially the description and cover image, which are the first things readers will see.

# General tab

The General tab contains the fundamental information about your story. This is where you define the identity of your narrative.

# Configuration tab

The Configuration tab allows you to enable or disable advanced game features. These options enrich the reading experience and turn your story into a truly interactive game.

Multiplayer mode (2-4 players)
Enable multiplayer mode to allow 2, 3, or 4 players to participate in the same story. Each player can have steps specifically assigned to them, creating a collaborative experience where everyone's choices influence the shared story. You must define the required number of players when activating this mode.
Chat with characters
This option allows readers to exchange messages with story characters during their reading. The author can predefine responses or use artificial intelligence to generate dialogues consistent with the character's personality.
Item inventory
Enable the inventory to let readers collect, use, and manage items throughout the story. Items can be linked to story elements and influence available choices through the condition system.
Hero statistics
Add statistics (strength, intelligence, charisma, etc.) to the main character. These statistics can evolve based on choices and determine access to certain steps or the outcome of certain events.
Demo mode
Demo mode makes part of your story freely accessible, even if the rest requires full access. It's an excellent way to give potential readers a preview of your narrative.
Impact on structure

Enabling multiplayer mode changes how you create your steps. Each step will need to be associated with a specific player or be shared among all players. Plan your narrative structure accordingly before enabling this option.

# Metadata tab

Metadata helps readers discover your story in the catalog. It is used for indexing and filtering available stories.

  • Categories — Choose from predefined categories: Adventure, Fantasy, Horror, Science Fiction, Romance, Mystery, Thriller, Historical, Humor, and many more. You can select multiple categories.
  • Tags — Add free-form keywords to describe your story's content more precisely (e.g., "time travel", "detective investigation", "survival").
  • Target audience — Specify your story's intended audience: all ages, teenagers, adults. This allows readers to filter content according to their preferences.
